Passion for Sport posted a series of weekly devotionals for the opportunity for spiritual reflection on a sporting theme.
The author, Rev Canon Brian Pearson, was ordained into the Anglican Church in 1979 and worked in a variety of parishes before joining the personal staff of the then Bishop of Bath and Wells. When the bishop was ‘elevated’ to become the 103rd Archbishop of Canterbury, Brian moved with him, to fulfil a brief that extended both nationally and internationally. Brian was a qualified soccer referee and is a registered cricket coach and senior umpire; he offers his thoughts as someone with a passion for sport and a passion for his faith.
